Events and Activities to Enjoy this Summer in Jackson Hole

After a long year, we are finally back up and running in Jackson Hole and are happy to welcome back responsible travelers. Several events have been added back to the line-up this summer and combined with the always-available outdoor activities; Jackson Hole is the perfect place to spend the summer.

Jackson Hole Food & Wine Summer Festival

Enjoy a taste and a sip of Jackson with the Jackson Hole Food & Wine Summer Festival. Enjoy the unique flavors and experience of Jackson Hole at this favorite summertime event. Meet and dine with Jackson’s culinary community, winemakers, cocktail and beer experts during this three-day event. The event runs June 24th – 26th with tickets on sale now.

Celebrate Independence Day

Capture the spirit of our nation’s birth by celebrating in Jackson Hole. Our 4th of July celebration is what true Americana is all about. With western vibes, mountain peaks, beautiful scenery, and of course fireworks, you can’t go wrong.

This is a popular time of year to visit Jackson Hole, so it is always advised to book your accommodations in advance. For budget-friendly options near downtown Jackson Hole, visit the Pony Express Motel.

Raft the Snake River Canyon

Experience Jackson Hole like you never have before with a whitewater rafting trip down the Snake River Canyon. Snowmelt from the mountains rushes into Snake River Canyon providing the perfect opportunity to raft some rapids. Enjoy the beauty of the canyon with friends and family on a guided excursion with Jackson Hole Whitewater.

SUP on String Lake

For a less intense and calmer water activity head out to String Lake for some stand-up paddleboarding. The water tends to be warmer and is not very deep, making this a great location for beginners. Plus, with spectacular views surrounding you, this might be one of our favorite things to do in Jackson Hole this summer. For paddleboard rentals, head to Teton Village Sports.

Hiking in the national parks

It goes without saying that one of the best ways to discover Jackson Hole in the summer is with a hike. While there are plenty of hiking trails available in both Grand Teton National Park and Yellowstone National Park, there are several local trails near the town that offer similar beautiful views without the national park entrance fees or crowds.
